Back to School {Giveaway}

Well, in Australia, it’s that time of year again — back to school. As soon as you become a parent of a preschool or school age child you quickly learn the yearly routine. And I guess in someways as a high school teacher, I’m even more familiar with it. By the time the end of the school year rolls around, it’s Christmas followed by hot summer days spent at the beach and before you know it, it’s time to prepare for a new school year.

This year Eva will be starting Pre-Kindergarten for 3-year-olds. And like many parents, I’m a little apprehensive and nervous about how she is going to handle the change — new teachers and lots of new faces. And despite Eva’s turbulent start, Eva grew to love her teachers at daycare, so I can only hope she settles in quickly to her new school environment.

Recently, Stuck on You sent Eva a lovely package filled with a few personalised items to help her start the school year. A new stainless steel drink bottle, which keeps water cool for longer and has no “plasticly” aftertaste. And best of all, my self-absorbed 2-and-a-half year old loves pointing out her name and saying “mine!”. Along with the drink bottle, Eva has a number of matching name labels in the gorgeous “Woodlands” design, which are a must have for any kid going to daycare, preschool or school.

And for any preschool age child, whom are often involved in messy art and craft activities, another must have is the art smock. With a personalised front pocket, elasticated wrists and tie at the back, they are fantastic for protecting clothes. However, I would mention that the aprons might be a better choice during the Australian summertime as the smock is rather thick. Made from a cotton canvas they’re durable — so far both paint and chalk have washed out easily and it’s looking new again.

Favourite Things {GIVEAWAY- CLOSED}

Spring is finally here! And we couldn’t be more excited. We’re slowing putting away our winter clothes, walking around the house in bare feet and opening up the bi-fold doors in the living room during the day. It definitely feels like Spring is in the air. But with this change of season, it just acts as another reminder of how quickly this year has gone and how quickly Eva is growing up.

I find it hard to image Eva starting school, but I know that it will just be around the corner. More and more I notice the signs are there. Already she loves drawing and colouring, pretending to write and spell her name. Although her E-V-A usually just turns out like a group of straight lines, I couldn’t be more proud when she enthusiastically spells out each letter.

And as much as I’m reluctant for those school years to come, I can’t help but be prepared. Recently, Stuck on You send Eva a lovely package filled with all sorts of personalised labels and stationary.

Above everything, Eva’s favourites have been the Personalised colouring pencils and double-tip markers, along with a personalised sketchbook. The tri-grip pencils are perfectly sized, making it easy for little hands to hold. The markers are a beautiful colour palette with two size nips, which allows for both broad scribbles or more detailed drawing. And although Eva loves the sketchbook because her name is written at the top, I love that it has a place to write the date when the artwork was created.

Stuck on You has a plethora of personalised stickers — labels for clothes, shoes, bags, water bottles, lunch boxes, everything. Perfect for daycare or school, personalised labels are a must. Eva’s labels are from the artist series, which has some of the most adorable motifs. Eva’s whimsical set is called "Pretty Garden" and has detailed images of little birds, bicycles, umbrellas and hot air balloons. They are beautifully designed, well made, and dishwasher safe. And since we’ve started using these, Eva’s childcare teacher has already asked where we got them from!

Not only was Stuck on You kind enough to send these items to Eva, they are also offering two (2) lucky readers $50 gift vouchers each.
